The National Security Agency (NSA), the Naval
Research Lab (NRL) , the Navy
Warfare Development Command (NWDC), and other agencies provide funded summer
internships. Many of these agencies, and
possibly some new ones, will provide internships for CS/IT students
during the upcoming summer. All of these agencies are
currently formulating detailed internship proposals. Descriptions of
available internships will be posted early next semester.
In October eligible students are encouraged to
apply for summer internships via the web form application (link below). Based
on past allocations, expect five CS and five IT training-credit
internships to be offered. Based on a number of factors, the CS faculty will rank applicants and internship billets are offered to students in order of the ranking.
You must fit all of the following criteria to be considered for
one of the CS internships:
- A midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy
- A computer science or Information Technology Major
- Academically satisfactory
- Current with all cruise/summer training requirements
- 3.0 or higher major GPA to be competitive
